Kathleen R. Rasmussen, M.D.

Private practice in Logan, Utah until joining OB/GYN Associates in 2002.

Dr. Rasmussen has served as the chairman and the co-chairman of the OB/GYN department at Spohn South Hospital. She has also served as the Patient Safety Officer and the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Spohn South Hospital. She is currently the Regional Medical Director of Women Services for the Spohn Hospital System.

She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Texas Medical Association and the Nueces County Medical Society.

She has special interests in treating perimenopause and menopause issues and offering patients alternative options for menstruation problems in addition to hysterectomies. Other interests include treatments for urinary incontinence and painful bladder problems including interstitial cystitis. Procedures for incontinence include the mid-urethral sling Monarc procedure. Her surgical interests include laparoscopy and minimally invasive robotic surgery with the da vinci surgical system including hysterectomies. She also performs in office procedures including Essure sterilizations, hysteroscopies and Novasure endometrial ablations. Dr. Rasmussen also provides obstetrical services to expecting moms.

Her husband, Allen Rasmussen, Ph.D., is the Dean of the College of Agriculture at Texas A&M University in Kingsville, and they have a son.
