Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Shelton grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Mary Carroll High School. She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1995. Dr. Shelton joined Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates of Corpus Christi after completion of her residency in 1999. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, having earned her board certification in 2001.
Dr. Shelton is a partner in the South Texas Surgical Hospital and a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and Nueces County Medical Society.
Dr. Shelton strives to stay up to date on the most advanced minimally invasive procedures including endometrial ablation, sterilization and urinary incontinence. She is also an advanced laparoscopist who performs the majority of her procedures through small incisions. She is one of the leading robotic surgeons in the Coastal Bend area not only performing hysterectomies and oophorectomies, but also more advanced robotic procedures including endometriosis resection, myomectomy, sacrocolpopexy and single incision hysterectomy. She also teaches these robotic skills to other physicians in the area.
Dr. Shelton and her husband have three sons and a daughter.
